VDA-Land Systems in partnership with ADA (Vic) is hosting Hanwha Defense Australia to provide VDA Members an opportunity to find out more about their business and opportunities for industry.

Hanwha Defense Australia (HDA), a recently created subsidiary of the Hanwha Group based in the Republic of Korea, has entered the Australian defence sector to deliver next generation armoured vehicles and joint fires platforms to the Australian Defence Force (ADF). Based in Melbourne, HDA is currently competing in two major ADF programs – Land 400 Phase 3 Infantry Fighting Vehicle and Land 8116 Protected Mobile Fires – that, if successful, will see HDA produce up to 500 vehicles at the company’s production facility in Greater Geelong.  A key element of Hanwha’s strategy is the creation of a secondary supply chain in Australia, to complement and assure the existing Korean supply chain, and in doing so, creating significant opportunities for businesses in Australian and New Zealand.

In this session, facilitated by VDA, HDA’s Managing Director Richard Cho and Industrial Development Lead Millie Keating will introduce you to the Hanwha Group, its business interests and capabilities, discuss HDA’s current and future Defence programs including how industry in Victoria can get involved, and provide further detail on the Australian Industry Portal (AIP). During the facilitated Q&A part of the session, key HDA team members from across the Land 400 Phase 3 and Land 8116 programs will answer any questions attendees may have about HDA and how to get involved in the supply chain.
